Welcome to the Library!

Here in Sealey’s LIbrary Media Center, we strive to create a space where all children can discover their love of reading. We like to say the library is the heart of the school. Our favorite catchphrase is “Readers are leaders,” afterall. We have five main sections in our library: Everybody (picture books and beginner chapter books), Fiction (chapter books), Nonfiction, Biography, and Graphic Novels. Each section houses books at many different grade levels with a wide variety of genres.

The library is open for checkout daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students in kindergarten begin checking out one or two books at a time in October. The number of books a kindergarten student checks out is decided by their teacher. Students in 1st-5th grades may check out two books at a time. All books are due back after 2 weeks. We use the Accelerated Reader Program at our school, so all books that have quizzes attached are labeled with a colored dot that indicates the book’s level. Please see the document below for an explanation of our dot system. Each book with an AR quiz also has the specific level, number of points, and quiz number on the inside cover.
